ON PAGE OPTIMIZATION VS OFF PAGE OPTIMIZATION

After making the web sites the main purpose is to get traffic to the certain web site or to increase the visibility in the various search engines. There are some components or characteristics contain in a web page which are measured by the search engines to rank a site. In the market places we will find huge jobs regarding to RANK a site in the Google to show it on the first page or the site link to be show within 1-10 search results. So, to rank a site both types of SEO techniques are essential to rank a site. Page Rank is an algorithm used by the search engines to rank or show websites in the search engine result pages. It’s a way of measuring the importance or popularity of website pages. According to Google , “ Page Rank works by counting the number and quality of links to a page to determine a rough estimate of how important the website is.”

To do these things, the web marketer applies to techniques named as On page optimization and the other is Off page optimization. This is very important for all the Digital Marketing concern about the proper execution of On page and off page optimization techniques. We know a web site may build by a language like php or by a CMS like Wordpress. We may take some initiatives or use some techniques to index our site by the Search Engines; that techniques are call the On Page Optimization. That is finally we may say, On page optimization refers to all measures that can be taken directly within the website in order to improve its ranking in the search engines. Finally, we do understand if any changes, improvements inside the webpage is called On Page Optimization. Only technical person or an administrator can do such type of changes. The major techniques to do the On page SEO are as follows:

v  Title Tag Optimization
v  Heading Tag ( h1 ) Tag Optimization
v  Internal Linking
v  Optimize the unique contents
v  Meta Tag and Meta Description optimization
v  Keywords Research to Optimize the Keywords
v  Site Map Submission
v  Directory Submission
v  Google Web Master Tool Analytics
v  Image Alt Tag
v  SEO Permalink Set Up
v  SEO Plugin Installation- Such as Yoast or All in One SEO pack
v  Responsive Web Design
v  Fast Page Loading
v  User Friendly 404 pages
v  User friendly navigation

On the other hand, the Off Page SEO will be done out side of the main web page system.  It referes to our website’s overall authority on the web determined by what other websites say about our site. Or when we start the marketing our website to increase the web site visitors is called as Off page optimization. It’s a long-term process and also take time to improve it’s brand or loyalty in the search engines. But in the market places we find such clients’ who wants to rank their site within one or two weeks. Our duty will be to make them understand the practical working procedure to rank a site. Off page Optimization includes the below factors:

§  Creating Quality Back Links
§  Social Book Markings
§  Blog Posting
§  Forum Posting
§  Link Submission
§  Guest Posting
§  Article Submission
§  Video Marketing
§  Press Release
§  Social Media Marketing
§  Domain Authority

So, we may say , where the on page SEO ends the Off page seo is start for marketing. Both are very important to rank the site. While making the site we have to more careful about the Onpage SEO and after making the site we have to involve ourselves to start the digital marketing to rank our site.

DEFINE SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

WHAT IS SEO?

Very simply I do understand that SEO is an art of Online Marketing through Internet. Where SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. There are lots of search engine available in online to give us feedback to search our results. When we do our product marketing through these search engine it’s called Search Engine Optimization. There are different ways to optimize our product or web page in the search engine. We may do this optimization in two ways as On Page Optimization and Off Page Optimization.

1.      As per Google the SEO is defined as: Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's unpaid results - often referred to as "natural," "organic," or "earned" results.

2.      As per Wikipedia the SEO is defined as : Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's unpaid results - often referred to as "natural," "organic," or "earned" results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search,[1] news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

Other than the core set of keywords that you are optimizing, you will also be able to find out what other keywords your visitors type in to find your website. During the initial optimization campaign, the number of keywords may be little. But as time goes by, you will start getting more keywords being listed on organic listings, due to your overall optimization effort.

Ø  Able to identify which pages and links your visitors click the most. You will be able to know which are the popular pages and links, and measure whether your optimization campaign is directing the traffic to the correct pages.

Ø  Visitor segmentation. With this , you will be able to know how many new visitors that your search engine optimization campaign brings to you. You can segment your analytic result by new/returning visitors, geography and referral sources.

SITE MAP CREATION & SUBMISSION

DEFINE SITE MAP

Usually we make website or blog to create our product or services brand in the Online Market. After making web site or blog we have to submit the site link in the major search engines. I have discussed about this in my previous post. Now we have to do one more thing, that is we have to create and submit a site map in the search engine. Site map creation and submission is very important because search engine can notify our webpage or blog by indexing the site map. According to Google, “ A sitemap is a file where we can list the web pages of our site to tell Google or other search engines about the organization of your site content. Search engine web crawlers like Googlebot read this file to more intelligently crawl our site”.

Site map submission is a process of On Page Optimization. In the market places there lots of work about Onpage optimization.

WHAT IS THE XML SITE MAP?

According to Google Sitemap is an XML file that lists the URLs for a site. It allows webmasters to include additional information about each URL: when it was last updated, how often it changes, and how important it is in relation to other URLs in the site. This allows search engines to crawl the site more intelligently.

HOW DO WE USE XML SITE MAP FOR SEO PURPOSE?

There are some web pages or sites who will help us to generate free XML site map for our web page or blog. We have to make our own Site map by those site and simply put the site map in our web page. XML Sitemap is a bit of Extensible Markup Language ( XML ) , standard machine-readable format consumable by search engines and other data-munching programs like feed readers. XML sitemaps convey information about one thing: the URLs that make up a site.

We may use this below link to generate our XML site:

By clicking the link new window will show as above. Put the data accordingly and press “start” and a XML file will be download in our pc as below:

Download the file as: sitemap.xml

The sitemap.xml site will shown as below image:

Now we have to install or submit this file to Google. So we have to open Google web master tool. Search this link: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/

Go to Google search webmaster tool and click on the website you have downloaded the sitemap file. Now click on the “Sitemap” tab and click on “ Add/Test Sitemap”
And write: “sitemap.xml” after your web link and submit.

After submitting the sitemap.xml file it will show us the pending results. Hopefully if everything is going file Google will index our site within 24 hours.

After one day if we log in to our Web master tool account, we will see the web page has index by the Google as below:

Hope the article will help you to create and submit your site map successfully. I will be more than happy to receive your any messages regarding this issue.

SITE SUBMISSION TO SEARCH ENGINES

Usually we make a website to promote our business, to boost up our sales and off course to create a brand of our products or services. After making a web site we should submit our site to the major Search Engines to indexing our site to show in the search results. We may define Site Submission as an act of supplying a URL to a Search Engine in an attempt to make a search engine aware of a site or page.

Getting listed in Google and other popular search engines is one of the most effective ways of directing free, targeted traffic to our website. So we can ensure our connection with search engines to getting lots of traffic as well as sales by site submission. Site submission is a major job related to Onpage SEO.

WHY SHOULD I SUBMIT OUR SITE TO SEARCH ENGINES?

Search engines use search engine spider or web crawler to crawl the web. Crawling means to reach to every possible page on web to display in search results. Normally search engine crawls one page then crawl all the linked pages from there and so on. So it is advisable to have updated sitemap of your website.
 Once search engine spider or web crawler crawls the web pages, it includes it in its database and index it according to keywords. Let’s say you have written article about “ Search Engine Optimization”. So, when google crawls your webpage, it indexes it and stores it for keywords like “ SEO”, “Search engine Optimization”, Seo services”.

Normally search engines crawl and index your website automatically at the interval of particular days. If there is no proper navigation provided then there is no way for search engines to reach to all of your site’s content.
LET’S START SITE SUBMISSION:
So it’s better to submit your content to search engine submission list to make sure that it can be crawled and indexed correctly and quickly. META TAG AND ITS IMPORTANCE

DEFINE META TAG

Meta tags are  brief description by text that describes a page’s content; the meta tags don’t appear on the page itself, but only in the page’s code. We all know tags from blog culture, and meta tags are more or less the same thing, little content descriptors that help tell search engines what a web page is about.

WHY DO WE USE META TAGS?

The <meta> tag provides metadata about the HTML document. Metadata will not be displayed on the page, but will be crawl by the search engines. Meta elements are typically used to specify page description, keywords, author of the document, last modified and other meta data.

ARE META DATA USEFULL?

Yes, off course the Meta data are very useful for our site. The importance of meta tags is that the search engines read them in order to compare if these keywords and the description are related with the visible content.

WHAT IS META CHARSET UTF 8 IN HTML?

That meta tag basically specifies what character set is your website written with. UTF8 ( Universal Character Set Transformation Format- 8 Bit ) is a character encoding capable of encoding all possible characters ( called code points ) in Unicode. The encoding is variable-length and uses 8-bit code units.

HOW DO WE ADD META TAGS TO OUR WEBSITE?

  1. Open a text editing program, such as Notepad++
  2. Log in to the Web hosting account provided to us by our hosting provider.
  3. In the text editor, open the Web page we want to add the meta tags to.
  4. In the portion of the file, insert the meta content. Here is an example of proper meta tag placement for a Seo service providing website.
<head>

<meta charset="UTF-8">

<meta name="description" content="Learn Search Engine Optimization and Online earning techniques">

<meta name="keywords" content=" Search Engine Optimization,online marketing,online earning,Digital Marketing,Email marketing, Social Media Marketing ">

<meta name="author" content="Khandaker Faruk Ahmed">

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
</head>

  1. Save the file
  2. Upload the Web page to the server.

In the next post I will show you how to upload/install the Meta Tag in WordPress blog and on Blogger. Thanks.
